AFL CEO Gillon McLachaln says that the GWS Giants will keep its Riverina zone this year, despite an ongoing spat between Collingwood president Eddie McGuire and the two Sydney clubs.
The Giants will have priority access to players from sections of New South Wales and will continue to develop them through the club's controversial academy.
The Giants picked up, what some suggested, as four top 15 picks in last year's draft, with Jacob Hopper, Matthew Kennedy, Harrison Himmelberg and Matthew Flynn all joining the club last season.
While McLachlan says that the zone won't be reviewed this season, he did leave it open to be reviewed in the coming years.
"Things always have the potential to be reviewed," McLachlan told ABC Radio on Friday morning.\
"The Riverina zone for the Giants is not being reviewed this year.
"There is not anything new going on at our place this week as opposed to last week."
