The GWS Giants and Collingwood have been at each other's throats for quite some time over the academy selections, with both club presidents exchanging blows constantly since the season began.

However, the Giants will be hoping the Magpies finish as low as possible given they will receive Collingwood's first round draft pick for Adam Treloar after the deal was done last October.

Currently, the GWS Giants hold pick five, 14 & 17 in the draft, which is frightening given that the 2016 draft is set to be one of the strongest in years.

The current first round draft order as follows:

1. Fremantle
2. Essendon
3. Brisbane Lions
4. Richmond
5. GWS Giants (received from Collingwood for Adam Treloar)
6. St Kilda
7. Carlton
8. Gold Coast Suns
9. Port Adelaide
10. Gold Coast (received from Melbourne in a exchange of picks)
11. Adelaide
12. West Coast
13. Hawthorn
14. GWS Giants
15. Western Bulldogs
16. Sydney Swans
17. GWS Giants (received from Carlton in trade for Lachie Plowman, Jed Lamb, Andrew Phillips, Liam Sumner, was originally at Geelong)
18. North Melbourne
